This book contains an unabridged translation of Vishnu Sharma’s original Sanskrit Panchatantra into Kannada and is NOT a comic book. ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷ್ಣುಶರ್ಮ ವಿರಚಿತ ಮೂಲ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಪಂಚತಂತ್ರದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಕನ್ನಡಾನುವಾದವನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಇದು ಕಾಮಿಕ್ ಪುಸ್ತಕವಲ್ಲ.
Panchatantra contains 5 tantras (Mitra-bheda, Mitra-samprapti, Kakolukiyam, Labdha-pranasham and Aparikshita-karakam). Each tantra contains the main thread story which includes multiple sub-stories numbering to 70.
Most translations don’t retain the full content (text and shlokas) or the structure of the original Panchatantra. Subhashitas are also dropped. The nested story structure is not retained. This translation remains true to the original and retains the structure and full contents.

ಮೂಲ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಪಂಚತಂತ್ರಲ್ಲಿ 5 ತಂತ್ರಗಳು (ಮಿತ್ರಭೇದ, ಮಿತ್ರಸಂಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿ, ಕೋಲೂಕೀಯ, ಲಬ್ಧಪ್ರಣಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪರೀಕ್ಷಿತಕಾರಕ) ಹಾಗೂ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ 70 ಉಪಕಥೆಗಳಿವೆ.
ಮೂಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಗದ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಪದ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ನೂರಾರು ಸುಭಾಷಿತಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂದರ್ಭೋಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸೂತ್ರಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಕಥೆಗಳು, ಉಪಕಥೆಗಳು ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ ಸೂತ್ರಕಥೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುವುದು ಮೂಲದಲ್ಲಿನ ರಚನಾವಿಧಾನ.
